020707 - Harkness State Park
Harkness State Park is in the coastal town of Waterford
next to nearby New London. It has acres of land with a
mansion, a long strip of beach, and ample parking. The
front gates close at sunset, but if you have a fishing
license and a rod and reel, you can stay all night on
the grounds. Go figure.
There are one or two boardwalks that lead down to the
beach area. This one was taken late afternoon. I liked
the pattern of the boards, the distance perspective
and the two people just happened to be at the crest of
the boardwalk. I used a split graduated color filter
to emphasize the late afternoon sun.
The image was captured with a Nikon F3, 35-70mm f/2.8, Kodachrome 64, Bogen tripod.
