050116 - Moon & Outer Light

Twice a year the moon rises near the Outer Light of Old Saybrook. This lighthouse is also known as Breakwater Light. What has to take place, other than clear skies, is the moon rising about 20 minutes before the sun sets. This allows me to get the warm glow on the lighthouse. This image was taken on Rt. 154 in Fenwick, a section of Old Saybrook.

The image was shot with a Nikon F4 and 500mm f/4 lens on Ektachrome Plus 100. I spotmetered on the moon and opened up 1 stop.

This image is available framed or matte only in the following sizes:
●    8x10 print / 11x14 matte
●  11x14 print / 16x20 matte
●  16x20 print / 20x24 matte
