081018_915 - Wood Creek Pond, Norfolk
Once a year I lead a camera club field trip to Norfolk, CT, in the northwest corner of the
state. I euphemistically call it the 'Swamp Tour'. This usually happens around Columbus Day
for the foliage and one of the stops is Wood Creek Pond off of Rt. 272 north of the town
This image was taken after Thanksgiving and on a cloudy day to give it a light blue cast.
If I had to give it a title, it would be 'Winter Woods'. I was standing on the boat launch
and the trees were across a small body of water. The zoom was set to around 200mm and shot
with a 5-stop bracket, just in case I wanted to process it as an HDR at a later time. But
given the overcast sky, there were no deep shadows or highlights to worry about. White
balance was set to daylight
The image was shot with a Nikon D300 and 70-300/4.5-5.6 lens at ISO 200.
