141009_070 - Kent Falls
Charter Oak Photographic Society sponsors many field trips for their members. This
is the result of a field trip in the fall. The trick is to arrive at the state park
around 7am before the tourists start pouring in. This way you get a clean shot of
the falls without people scrambling all over the cascades and ledges. The downside is
that the early morning light is uneven leaving part of the falls in deep shade. A
10-stop neutral density filter was used to make the falls 'sleepy' as one 5 year old
remarked when seeing the image in my booth.
The image was captured with a Nikon D800, 24-70 f/2.8, ISO 100, ND 3.0 filter, Gitzo tripod.
This image is available framed or matte only in the following sizes:
● 8x10 print / 11x14 matte
● 11x14 print / 16x20 matte
● 16x20 print / 20x24 matte
